IPCITI 2010: International Postgraduate Conference in Translation and Interpreting
SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
We are pleased to announce the second call for papers for the 6th International Postgraduate Conference in Translation and Interpreting (IPCITI), which will be held at the University of Manchester from 29 to 31 October 2010. We have been greatly encouraged by the positive response to our first call for papers and would now like to extend an opportunity to those who were unable to submit abstracts before the first deadline.
This year’s conference ‘From Reflection to Refraction: New perspectives, new settings and new impacts aims to showcase the rich diversity of research in translation and interpreting studies. As the field has grown scholars have widened their scope of inquiry and have sought to address new topics, adopt new methodologies and target more diverse audiences. We particularly welcome papers that look beyond the traditional boundaries of the discipline including those that adopt interdisciplinary research frameworks, investigate new settings or seek to apply findings from their research in a range of academic and non-academic contexts. We especially invite submissions dealing with interpreting-related issues, the use of electronic corpora, and those looking at new genres (multi-modality, video-games, fansubbing, comics, etc.) or language combinations.
