Interpreting Department, ETI, University of Geneva
On October 15, 2009, the interpreting department of ETI at the University of Geneva will launch its first full-fledged online doctoral program in interpreting research.
To mark this memorable event, we are organizing a series of round tables to provide young researchers with a platform to encounter and engage experts in three main research areas:
1) Cognitive processes in interpreting
2) Collaborative learning environments in interpreter training
3) Socio-cultural and humanitarian issues in interpreting
Each round table will be moderated by a leading expert in the field and bring together scholars and practitioners from a wide array of disciplines. As a special tribute to the interpreting department's good working relationship with many of the 20 intergovernmental organizations in Geneva, a special round table will be organized with several of their chief interpreters.
