Any advices for a tranlation learner?

Hello,

I just registred myself in this site hoping to have many exchanges with all of you. I am a student in translation trying my best to learn new things.

i don't have any specific question, but wanted to ask you if you have any advices to me to make me better my skills and get rid of my underestimation and weaknesses.

if you know online resources or activities on translation works from english-Arabic or Arabi-English i would be interested in reading them

i also wonder if there are online thesis on translation??

for my thesis of 4th year I need to translate a chapter from a book,about at least 20pages

Just wanted to ask, aren't there references on the techniques of translations themeselves?

As a learner, I'm still facing difficulty in translating the meaning of the sentence, and I'm often translating word by word (which may be correct but which may sound a heavy expression!)

Aren't there online thesis written by students to have a look at them?
