    ترجمة عبارات وجمل دينية

    السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته إخواني الأعزاء

    في هذه الصفحة المتواضعة سأحاول جاهدا نقل عبارات دينية إسلامية ووضع مقابل لها في اللغة الإنجليزية، وكل ذلك سأنقله من موقع إسلام سؤال وجواب حتى تعم الفائدة لمن يهمه أمر الترجمة الدينية حتى نكون على دراية تامة بالكلمات الدينية الإسلامية وما يقابلها في اللغة الإنجليزية، لنبدأ على بركة الله:

    الأصل سلامة جانب المسلم
    The basic principle is that the Muslim is to be thought of in the best terms

    الظن أكذب الحديث
    suspicion is the falsest of speech

    إلا أن يبدو منه خلاف ذلك
    This applies unless he actually does something that is contrary to that

    إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ
    Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the falsest of speech

    وَلَا تَحَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَنَافَسُوا
    Do not seek out one another’s faults; do not spy on one another; do not compete with one another;

    وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا
    do not envy one another; do not hate one another

    وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا
    do not turn away from one another. Be, O slaves of Allah, brothers.”

    اِحْذَرُوا اِتِّبَاع الظَّنّ أَوْ اِحْذَرُوا سُوء الظَّنّ
    Beware of suspicion” means: beware of following suspicion or beware of negative thinking

    وَالظَّنّ تُهْمَة تَقَع فِي الْقَلْب بِلَا دَلِيل
    for suspicion is an accusation that comes to mind without any evidence

    إذا بلغك عن أخيك الشيء تنكره
    If you hear something about your brother that you dislike
    فالتمس له عذر واحدا إلى سبعين عذرا
    then look for excuses for him, from one to seventy excuses
    فإن أصبته ، وإلا قل : لعل له عذرا لا أعرفه
    if you find an excuse for him (all well and good), otherwise say: Perhaps he has an excuse that I do not know of

    المشروع للمؤمن أن يحترم أخاه إذا اعتذر إليه ويقبل عذره إذا أمكن ذلك
    What is legislated for the believer is to respect his brother if he offers an excuse to
    him, to accept his apology if possible
    ويحسن به الظن حيث أمكن ذلك
    and to think positively of him as much as possible
    حرصا على سلامة القلوب من البغضاء
    striving to keep hearts free of resentment
    ورغبة في جمع الكلمة والتعاون على الخير
    and aiming to bring about unity and co-operation in doing good

    لا تظن بكلمة صدرت من أخيك شرا وأنت تجد لها في الخير محملا
    Do not think badly of any word uttered by your brother when you can find a good interpretation for it

    فكُلْ من طعام أخيك ، واشرب من شرابه
    So eat and drink from what your brother offers you
    ولا تلتفت إلى الوساوس والشكوك ولا تسيء الظن به
    and do not pay any attention to waswas and suspicion; do not think badly of him
    حتى يتبين لك خلاف ذلك بدليل واضح
    unless you see clear proof to the contrary
    أو بظن غالب
    or you think it most likely that that is the case
    تساعد عليه قرائن الأحوال التي تقول لك إن ها هنا أمرا ينبغي أن تنتبه إليه ، وتحترز منه
    on the basis of corroborating evidence that you say you have, if there is a reason to be cautious

      اليقين عامة هو اعتماد البرهان الجلي
      Certainty (yaqeen) in general means basing one’s view on clear evidence


      فيما يعرض للإنسان من الأمور العلمية والعملية جميعها
      with regard to whatever man may be faced with of academic or practical issues

      ونبذ الشك وطرح الوسواس
      and casting aside doubts and speculation

      ولذلك يقول الفقهاء عبارتهم المشهورة
      Hence the fuqaha (jurists) said the famous words


      اليقين لا يزول بالشك
      Certainty cannot be dispelled by doubt

      الْيَقِينُ فِي اللُّغَةِ : الْعِلْمُ وَإِزَاحَةُ الشَّكِّ
      Yaqeen (certainty) from a linguistic point of view means having knowledge, dispelling doubt


      وَتَحْقِيقُ الأَمْرِ ، وَهُوَ نَقِيضُ الشَّكِّ
      understanding a matter as it is; it is the opposite of doubt

      وَالْيَقِينُ فِي اصْطِلاحِ الْفُقَهَاءِ
      Yaqeen (certainty) according to the scholars

      هُوَ جَزْمُ الْقَلْبِ بِوُقُوعِ الشَّيْءِ ، أَوْ عَدَمِ وُقُوعِهِ
      means reassurance in the heart that something did or did not happen.

      أما خبر تلك الشاة المسمومة
      With regard to the report of the poisoned sheep

      فلم يثبت فيه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم استمر في الأكل منها
      there is no proof that the Prophet carried on eating from it

      بعد أن علم أنها مسمومة
      after he realised that it was poisoned

      والمروي عنه في ذلك خلافه
      The reports narrated from him indicate the contrary

      كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْبَلُ الْهَدِيَّةَ وَلَا يَأْكُلُ الصَّدَقَةَ
      The Messenger of Allah used to accept gifts but he did not eat (that which was given in) charity
      فَأَهْدَتْ لَهُ يَهُودِيَّةٌ بِخَيْبَرَ شَاةً مَصْلِيَّةً سَمَّتْهَا
      A Jewish woman in Khaybar gave him a roasted sheep that she had poisoned

      ارْفَعُوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّهَا مَسْمُومَةٌ
      Lift up your hands (i.e., stop eating), for it has told me that it is poisoned

      صححه الألباني
      Classed as saheeh (authentic) by al-Albani

        إن عضوا من أعضائها يخبرني أنها مسمومة
        One of its legs has told me that it is poisoned

        فامتنع رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم وامتنع من معه .
        So the Messenger of Allah stopped eating, as did those who were with him

        فلما وضعتها بين يديه تناول الذراع
        When she placed it in front of him

        فلاك منها مضغة، فلم يسغها
        he picked up the foreleg and took a bite from it but he could not swallow it

        فإن من المعلوم بداهة أن الإنسان مخلوق
        It is the matter of common sense that man has been created

        ولا بد من أن يكون للمخلوق خالق
        and the created being must have a Creator

        ويجب على الإنسان أن يقر بهذه الحقيقة
        Man has to acknowledge this reality


        ومعلوم بداهة أن الخالق لهذا الوجود هو الذي يستحق أن يُعبد
        It is also the matter of common sense that the Creator of this universe is the One who deserves to be worshipped

        فمن لم يعترف بهذه الحقيقة فهو الملحد الجاحد
        This means that the one who does not acknowledge this truth is an atheist and a denier

        الجاهل الفاسد
        and is ignorant and corrupt

        العقل المنحط عن منزلة الإنسانية
        his intellect is less than human

        ومن لم يقم بحق العبودية لله
        Whoever does not submit truly as a slave to Allaah

        الذي خلق السموات والأرض بل استكبر عن عبادته
        Who has created the heavens and the earth, but is too proud to worship Him

        He is refusing to worship Allaah
        فهو مستنكف عن عبادة الله

        فإنه مستحق لأشد العقوبات
        He deserves the most severe punishment

        هو أعظم الخطايا البشرية
        the most serious of human sins

        وأقبح الاعتقادات ، وأسوء الانحرافات
        the most abhorrent of beliefs and the worst deviation

        ومن كان كذلك فلا قيمة لأي عمل خيري يعمله
        If a person is like this, there is no value in any good deed that he does

        أليس معقولا أنه يستحق العقاب ؟
        Does it not make sense that he should be punished

        ولا قيمة إلى إحسانه إلى الكلاب
        and that his good treatment of dogs should not count for anything

        فأعظم الحقوق حق الله
        The most important rights are the rights of Allaah


        فالمضيّع لهذا الحق العظيم لا ينفعه ما يقوم به من حقوق الناس
        The one who neglects this most important right will not benefit from anything he does with regard to people’s rights

        قد يثاب على إحسانه برزق في الدنيا من مطعم ومشرب
        He may be rewarded for his good deeds by being granted provision of food and drink in this world

          لا حرج في استعمال كلمة "صدفة"
          There is nothing wrong with using the expression “by chance”

          لا بأس باستعمال كلمة قابلت فلاناً صدفة
          There is nothing wrong with using the phrase “by chance,” 0

          لأن مراد المتكلم بذلك أنه قابله بدون اتفاق سابق
          because what the speaker means is that he met that person without a prior agreement to meet

          وليس المراد أنه قابله بدون تقدير من الله عز وجل
          he does not mean that this meeting happened without the decree of Allaah

          وقد ورد استعمال هذه الكلمة في بعض الأحاديث
          The use of this expression (sudfatan in Arabic) is mentioned in some ahaadeeth

          ليس قول الإنسان قابلت فلاناً صدفة محرّماً أو شركاً
          I met So and so by chance” etc is not haraam and does not constitute shirk

          ما رأي فضيلتكم في استعمال كلمة "صدفة" ؟
          What is your opinion on using the expression “by chance”?0

          رأينا في هذا القول أنه لا بأس به
          We think that there is nothing wrong with this expression

          وهذا أمر متعارف ووردت أحاديث بهذا التعبير
          This is a customary expression which is mentioned in several ahaadeeth


          والمصادفة والصدفة بالنسبة لفعل الإنسان أمر واقع
          With regard to people’s actions, things do happen by chance

          لأن الإنسان لا يعلم الغيب
          because people have no knowledge of the Unseen

          فقد يصادفه الشيء من غير شعور به
          and a thing may happen without a person realizing it

          ومن غير مقدمات له ولا توقع له
          or doing the things that lead to it or expecting it

          ولكن بالنسبة لفعل الله لا يقع هذا
          But with regard to the actions of Allaah, this is not the case

          فإن كل شيء عند الله معلوم
          for everything is known to Allaah

          وكل شيء عنده بمقدار
          and everything is decreed by Him

          وهو سبحانه وتعالى لا تقع الأشياء بالنسبة إليه صدفة أبداً
          With regard to Him nothing ever happens by chance

          لكن بالنسبة لي أنا وأنت نتقابل بدون ميعاد
          but with regard to you and me, we may meet without prior arrangement

          وبدون شعور وبدون مقدمات
          and without realizing
          or planning it

          وأما بالنسبة لفعل الله فهذا أمر ممتنع ولا يجوز
          . But with regard to the actions of Allaah, this word cannot be used

            الإيمان بالجن والسحر والعين.
            Belief in the Jinn, witchcraft and the evil eye

            السحر وأنواعه
            Witchcraft and its types

            هل للسحر حقيقة وهل يؤثر وما هي أنواعه ؟
            Is sihr (magic, witchcraft) real? Does it have any effect? What are its types?0

            ومن اهتدى بهداه
            and those who follow his guidance

            فإن السحر من الجرائم العظيمة
            Sihr (magic, witchcraft) is a serious crime

            ومن أنواع الكفر ومما يبتلى به الناس قديماً وحديثاً
            and is one of the kinds of kufr. It is one of things with which people have been tested
            in the past and currently

            في الأمم الماضية وفي الجاهلية وفي هذه الأمة
            among the nations of the past, during the Jaahiliyyah and in this ummah

            وعلى حسب كثرة الجهل وقلة العلم وقلة الوازع الإيماني والسلطاني
            The more ignorance increases, the less there is knowledge and awareness of faith
            the less attention the authorities pay to this matter

            يكثر أهل السحر والشعوذة
            the more the practitioners of sihr and trickery increase

            وينتشرون في البلاد للطمع في أموال الناس والتلبيس عليهم ولأسباب أخرى
            and spread in the land, to take the people’s wealth and confuse them and do other things

            وعندما يظهر العلم ويكثر الإيمان ، ويقوى السلطان الإسلامي
            When knowledge prevails and faith increases, and the Islamic authorities are powerful

            يقل هؤلاء الخبثاء وينكمشون وينتقلون من بلاد إلى بلاد
            the number of these evil people shrinks and they move from one land to another

            لالتماس المحل الذي يروج فيه باطلهم
            seeking a place where their falsehood will be accepted

            ويتمكنون فيه من الشعوذة والفساد
            and they will be able to engage in their trickery and corruption

            وقد بين الكتاب والسنة أنواع السحر وحكمها
            The Qur’aan and Sunnah have described the kinds of sihr and the rulings on these matters

            السحر سمي سحراً لأن أسبابه خفية
            Sihr is so called because its means are hidden or secret

            ولأن السحرة يتعاطون أشياء خفية
            and because the practitioners of sihr deal with things in secret

            يتمكنون بها من التخييل على الناس والتلبيس عليهم
            which enable them to perform illusions to confuse the people

            والتزوير على عيونهم ، وإدخال الضرر عليهم وسلب أموالهم إلى غير ذلك
            and deceive their eyes
            and to cause them harm or steal their money

            بطرق خفية لا يفطن لها في الأغلب
            in a secretive manner so that in most cases nobody realizes what is happening

            ولهذا يسمى آخر الليل سحراً
            Hence the last part of the night is called sahar

            لأنه يكون في آخره عند غفلة الناس وقلة حركتهم
            because at the end of the night people are unaware and they do not move about much

            ويقال للرئة سحر ، لأنها في داخل الجسم وخفية
            And the lungs are also called sahr, because they are hidden inside the body

            ما يتعاطاه السحرة من التخييل والتلبيس
            the meaning of sihr is what the magicians do to delude and confuse people

            الذي يعتقده المشاهد حقيقة وهو ليس بحقيقة
            The one who is watching thinks that it is real when in fact it is not


            كما قال الله سبحانه عن سحرة فرعون
            As Allaah said concerning the magicians of Pharaoh (interpretation of the meaning):0

            ( قالوا يا موسى إما أن تلقي وإما أن نكون أول من ألقى)

            “They said: ‘O Moosa! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?’0

            (قال بل ألقوا فإذا حبالهم وعصيهم يخيل إليه من سحرهم أنها تسعى)
            Moosa said: ‘Nay, throw you (first)!’ Then behold! their ropes and their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast.0

            (فأوجس في نفسه خيفة موسى)
            So Moosa conceived fear in himself

            (قلنا لا تخف إنك أنت الأعلى)
            We (Allaah) said: ‘Fear not! Surely, you will have the upper hand

            (وألق ما في يمينك تلقف ما صنعوا)
            And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made

            (إنما صنعوا كيد ساحر ولا يفلح الساحر حيث أتى )
            That which they have made is only a magician’s trick, and the magician will never be successful, to whatever amount of skill he may attain

              وقد يكون السحر من أشياء يفعلها السحرة مع عقد ينفثون فيها
              Sihr may involve things that the magician does when tying knots on which he blows

              ( ومن شر النفاثات في العقد )
              “And from the evil of those who practise witchcraft when they blow in the knots”0

              وقد يكون من أعمال أخرى يتوصلون إليها من طريق الشياطين
              And it may involve other things which they manage to do through the devils


              فيعملون أعمالاً قد تغير عقل الإنسان
              so they do things that may affect a man's reason

              وقد تسبب مرضاً له ، وقد تسبب تفريقاً بينه وبين زوجته
              or make him sick; they may cause division between a man and his wife

              فتقبح عنده ، ويقبح منظرها فيكرهها
              resulting in her looking ugly to him

              وهكذا هي قد يعمل معها الساحر ما يبغض زوجها إليها ، وينفرها من زوجها
              or by making her hate her husband or be put off by him

              هو كفر صريح بنص القرآن
              This is blatant kufr as the Qur’aan states

              (وما يعلمان من أحد حتى يقولا إنما نحن فتنة فلا تكفر )
              but neither of these two angels taught anyone such things till they had said, ‘We are for trial, so disbelieve not


              يعني هذا السحر وما يقع منه من الشر كله بقدر سابق بمشيئة الله
              this magic and any harm that results from it is subject to the prior decree and will of Allaah


              فربنا جل وعلا لا يُغلب ولا يقع في ملكه ما لا يريد
              for our Lord cannot be overwhelmed and nothing can happen in His Dominion against His Will

              بل لا يقع شيء في هذه الدنيا ولا في الآخرة إلا بقدر سابق
              Nothing happens in this world or in the hereafter except by His prior decree

              لحكمة بالغة شاءها سبحانه وتعالى
              and by His great wisdom, as He wills

              فقد يُبتلى هؤلاء بالسحر ، ويُبتلى هؤلاء بالمرض ، ويبتلى هؤلاء بالقتل
              So some people may be tested by sihr, and others may be tested by sickness, or by being killed

              إلى غير ذلك ، لله الحكمة البالغة فيما يقضي ويقدر
              Allaah is All-Wise in all that He wills and decrees

              وفيما يشرعه سبحانه لعباده
              and in all that He prescribes for His slaves

              ( وما هم بضارين به من أحد إلا بإذن الله )
              but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allaah’s Leave

              يعني بإذنه الكوني القدري لا بإذنه الشرعي
              by His universal (kawni) will and decree, not by His legislative (shar’i) will [i.e., He wills that it should happen but He does not enjoin it and He is not pleased by such actions]0

              فالشرع يمنعهم من ذلك ويحرم عليهم ذلك
              For sharee’ah does not allow such things, indeed it forbids them


              لكن بالإذن القدري الذي مضى به علم الله وقدره السابق أن يقع من فلان السحر
              but by His universal leave He already knows and has already decreed that So and so will do sihr


              ( إنا كل شيء خلقناه بقدر )
              Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation)0

              فهذه الشرور التي قد تقع من السحرة ومن غيرهم
              The evils that come at the hands of the magicians or others

              لا تقع من جهل من ربنا فهو العالم بكل شيء سبحانه وتعالى

              do not happen because our Lord is ignorant, for He knows all things

              لا يخفى عليه خافية جل وعلا
              and nothing at all is hidden from Him

              ( إن الله بكل شيء عليم )
              Verily, Allaah is the All-Knower of everything

              ( لتعلموا أن الله على كل شيء قدير وأن الله قد أحاط بكل شيء علماً )
              that you may know that Allaah has power over all things, and that Allâh surrounds all things in (His) Knowledge

              ولكن له الحكمة البالغة ، والغايات المحمودة فيما يقضي ويقدر
              but He has perfect wisdom and good aims in whatever He decrees


              مما يقع فيه الناس من عز وذل ، وإزالة ملك ، وإقامة ملك ، ومرض وصحة ، وسحر وغيره
              should happen to people of honour or humiliation, losing or gaining power, sickness or health, magic and other things

              وسائر الأمور التي تقع في العباد كلها عن مشيئة
              Everything that happens to people happens by the will of Allaah and in accordance with His prior decree

                وهؤلاء السحرة قد يتعاطون أشياء تخيلية كما تقدم
                These magicians may perform their illusions, as stated in the aayah quoted above


                يخيل إلى الناظر أن هذه العصي ، وأن هذه الحبال حيات تسعى في الوادي
                It appeared to the onlooker as if these sticks and ropes were snakes, moving fast in the valley

                وهي حبال وعصي
                They were only sticks and ropes

                لكن السحرة خيلوا للناس ما أظهروه أمام أعينهم من أشياء تعلموها تغير الحقائق على الناس بالنظر إلى أبصارهم
                but the magicians, through what they had learned, made what they demonstrated before the people look different in their eyes to what it really was



                قال سبحانه : ( يخيل إليه من سحرهم أنها تسعى )
                Allaah says (interpretation if the meaning):0
                “by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast”

                ( قال ألقوا فلما ألقوا سحروا أعين الناس واسترهبوهم وجاءوا بسحر عظيم )
                “He [Moosa] said: ‘Throw you (first).’ So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them, and they displayed a great magic” 0

                وهي في الحقيقة ما تغيرت حبال وعصي
                But in fact their sticks and ropes did not change

                ولكن تغير نظر الناس إليها بسبب السحر

                it was the people’s sight which changed because of the sihr

                فاعتقدوها حيات بسبب التلبيس الذي حصل من السحرة
                , so they thought they were snakes, because of the illusion brought about by the magicians

                ، وتسميه بعض الناس "تقمير" وهو أن يعمل الساحر أشياء تجعل الإنسان لا يشعر بالحقيقة على ما هي عليه
                Some people call this taqmeer, which is when the magician does things to make a person not sense reality as it really is

                ، فيكون بصره لا يدرك الحقيقة فقد يؤخذ من حانوته أو منزله ما فيه ولا يشعر بذلك
                so his eyes do not see what is really there and things may be taken from his shop or his home without him realizing it

                يعني أنه لم يعرف الحقيقة
                he does not know what is really happening

                فقد يرى الحجر دجاجة ، أويرى الحجر بيضة ، أوما أشبه ذلك
                So he may see a rock as a chicken or as an egg, and so on


                لأن الواقع تغير في عينيه ، بسبب عمل الساحر وتلبيسه
                because reality has been changed in his eyes because of the confusion wrought by the magician

                فسُحرت عيناه
                and because his eyes have been bewitched

                وجعل هناك من الأشياء التي يتعاطاها السحرة من المواد ما تجعل عينيه لا تريان الحقيقة على ما هي عليه
                There are things that the magicians do with certain substances to make people’s eyes not see what is really happening

                  المناقب.
                  Virtues and Merits

                  وقوع الكرامات لبعض أهل الصلاح
                  miracles that happened to some righteous people

                  وقوع الكرامات لصلحاء هذه الأمة أمر ثابت لا شك فيه
                  The fact that karaamaat (miracles) happened to the righteous of this ummah is something that is proven and there is no doubt concerning it

                  وهو من تثبيت الله لعبده المؤمن ، ومن عاجل مثوبته له
                  This is one of the ways in which Allah makes His believing slave steadfast and is part of his reward in this world

                  قال الطحاوي رحمه الله في "عقيدته" (ص84) :
                  " ونؤمن بما جاء من كراماتهم ، وصح عن الثقات من رواياتهم " انتهى .
                  We believe in what is narrated about their karaamaat and what is mentioned in saheeh reports from trustworthy narrators. End quote

                  لاكن لا بد أن يُتناول هذا الأمر بحذر وفهم صحيح
                  But it is essential to approach this matter with caution and correct understanding

                  فإنه قد يقع لبعض أهل الضلال من خوارق العادات ما يظنه الجاهل أنه من الكرامات ، وإنما هو من تلبيس الشياطين .
                  , because extraordinary events may happen to some who promote misguidance, which may make the ignorant think that these are karaamaat when in fact it is the deceit of the devils


                  كرامات الأولياء حق باتفاق أئمة أهل الإسلام والسنة والجماعة
                  The karaamaat of the close friends of Allah (awliya’) are true according to the consensus of the imams of Islam and of Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa‘ah

                  وقد دل عليها القرآن في غير موضع
                  That is indicated by the Qur’aan in more than one place

                  وإنما أنكرها أهل البدع من المعتزلة والجهمية ومن تابعهم
                  It is only denied by innovators such as the Mu‘talizah, Jahamiyyah and those who followed them

                  لكن كثيرا ممن يدعيها أو تدعى له يكون كذابا أو ملبوسا عليه
                  But many of those who claim to have performed miracles or to whom people attributed miracles may have been lying or confused


                  وليعلم أن الكرامة الحقيقية عند عباد الله ، وخاصة أوليائه ،

                  It should be noted that the true miracle for the slaves of Allah, and especially for His close friends (awliya’),0

                  إنما هي لزومهم طريق الاستقامة إلى ربهم , وثباتهم على ذلك
                  only occurs because of their following the path of righteousness and their adherence to it. 0


                  إنما غاية الكرامة لزوم الاستقامة
                  The real karaamah (honour) is steadfastness in adhering to the path of righteousness

                  فلم يكرم الله عبدا بمثل أن يعينه على ما يحبه
                  There is no honour that Allah bestows on any of His slaves that can match the honour of helping him to do that which He loves

                  ويرضاه ويزيده مما يقربه إليه ويرفع به درجته
                  and which pleases Him, and to do more of that which will bring him closer to Him and raise him in status


                  قد وقع لشيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية رحمه الله من هذه الخصائص ، ما حكاه عنه بعض تلامذته والعارفين به
                  Some of these privileges or honours (miracles) happened to Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah may Allah have mercy on him, which were narrated from him by some of his students and those who knew him

                  قال ابن القيم رحمه الله :
                  " وَلَقَدْ شَاهَدْتُ مِنْ فِرَاسَةِ شَيْخِ الْإِسْلَامِ ابْنِ تَيْمِيَّةَ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ أُمُورًا عَجِيبَةً
                  Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: 0
                  I saw wondrous examples of the intuition of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) 0

                  وَمَا لَمْ أُشَاهِدْهُ مِنْهَا أَعْظَمُ وَأَعْظَمُ
                  and I have never seen anything greater than it

                  وَوَقَائِعُ فِرَاسَتِهِ تَسْتَدْعِي سِفْرًا ضَخْمًا
                  The incidents of his intuition would fill a huge volume

                  أَخْبَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ بِدُخُولِ التَّتَارِ الشَّامَ سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَتِسْعِينَ وَسِتِّمِائَةٍ
                  He told his companions about the Tatars entering ash-Shaam (greater Syria) in 699AH

                  وَأَنَّ جُيُوشَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ تُكْسَرُ
                  and that the Muslim armies would be defeated

                  وَأَنَّ دِمَشْقَ لَا يَكُونُ بِهَا قَتْلٌ عَامٌّ وَلَا سَبْيٌ عَامٌّ
                  but there would be no wide-scale killing or taking of prisoners in Damascus

                  أَنَّ كَلَبَ الْجَيْشِ وَحِدَّتَهُ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ
                  and that the (enemy) army’s main interest would be in seizing wealth

                  وَهَذَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَهُمَّ التَّتَارُ بِالْحَرَكَةِ
                  This was before the Tatars took any action to attack





                  ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَ النَّاسَ وَالْأُمَرَاءَ سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِمِائَةٍ لَمَّا تَحَرَّكَ التَّتَارُ وَقَصَدُوا الشَّامَ
                  Then he told the people and the commanders in 702 AH, when the Tatars started moving and were heading towards greater Syria

                  أَنَّ الدَّائِرَةَ وَالْهَزِيمَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَّ الظَّفَرَ وَالنَّصْرَ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
                  that they would be defeated and the Muslims would be victorious

                  وَأَقْسَمَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ يَمِينًا
                  and he swore more than seventy oaths to that effect

                  فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : قُلْ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، فَيَقُولُ: إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَحْقِيقًا لَا تَعْلِيقًا
                  It was said to him: Say In sha Allah (if Allah wills). So he said In sha Allah, but it was in affirmation and certainty, not with any sense of doubt or hesitation

                  وَكَانَتْ فِرَاسَتُهُ الْجُزْئِيَّةُ فِي خِلَالِ هَاتَيْنِ الْوَاقِعَتَيْنِ مِثْلَ الْمَطَرِ
                  And his intuition concerning the details of these two battles was very great indeed




                  وَلَمَّا طُلِبَ إِلَى الدِّيَارِ الْمِصْرِيَّةِ
                  When he was summoned to Egypt

                  وَأُرِيدَ قَتْلُهُ بَعْدَمَا أُنْضِجَتْ لَهُ الْقُدُورُ وَقُلِّبَتْ لَهُ الْأُمُورُ
                  there were plans afoot to kill him – after a great deal of scheming to get rid of him, and many people were against him

                  اجْتَمَعَ أَصْحَابُهُ لِوَدَاعِهِ
                  His companions gathered to bid him farewell

                  وَقَالُوا: قَدْ تَوَاتَرَتِ الْكُتُبُ بِأَنَّ الْقَوْمَ عَامِلُونَ عَلَى قَتْلِكَ
                  and they said: We have received many letters confirming that the people (in Egypt) are intending to kill you

                  فَقَالَ: وَاللَّهِ لَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَى ذَلِكَ أَبَدًا
                  He said: By Allah, it will never go that far

                  قَالُوا: أَفَتُحْبَسُ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، وَيَطُولُ حَبْسِي
                  They said: Will you be imprisoned? He said: Yes, and it will be for a long time

                  ثُمَّ أَخْرُجُ وَأَتَكَلَّمُ بِالسُّنَّةِ عَلَى رُءُوسِ النَّاسِ
                  then I will come out and I will speak up for the Sunnah
                  addressing large crowds of people

                  وَلَمَّا تَوَلَّى عَدُوُّهُ الْمُلَقَّبُ بِالْجَاشِنْكِيرِ الْمُلْكَ أَخْبَرُوهُ بِذَلِكَ
                  When his enemy who was known as al-Jaashinkeer came to power
                  they told him about that

                  وَقَالُوا: الْآنَ بَلَغَ مُرَادَهُ مِنْكَ
                  and said: Now he has the power to do whatever he wants with you

                  فَسَجَدَ لِلَّهِ شُكْرًا وَأَطَالَ
                  And he prostrated to Allah in gratitude, and remained in prostration for a long time

                  فَقِيلَ لَهُ : مَا سَبَبُ هَذِهِ السَّجْدَةُ ؟
                  It was said to him: Why did you do this prostration?

                  فَقَالَ : هَذَا بِدَايَةُ ذُلِّهِ وَمُفَارَقَةُ عِزِّهِ مِنَ الْآنِ
                  He said: This is the beginning of his humiliation and the end of his power has begun from now

                  وَقرب زَوَالِ أَمْرِهِ
                  the demise of his authority is at hand

                  فَقِيلَ: مَتَى هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَ: لَا تُرْبَطُ خُيُولُ الْجُنْدِ عَلَى الْقُرْطِ حَتَّى تُغْلَبَ دَوْلَتُهُ
                  It was said: When will that be? He said: The troops’ horses will not be bridled before his authority will vanish

                  فَوَقَعَ الْأَمْرُ مِثْلَ مَا أَخْبَرَ بِهِ، سَمِعْتُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ
                  And it turned out as he said. I heard him say that

                  وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : يَدْخُلُ عَلَيَّ أَصْحَابِي وَغَيْرُهُمْ فَأَرَى فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ وَأَعْيُنِهِمْ أُمُورًا لَا أَذْكُرُهَا لَهُمْ
                  On one occasion he said: My companions and others enter upon me and I see in their faces and in their eyes things that I do not mention to them

                  فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَوَ غَيْرِي لَوْ أَخْبَرْتَهُمْ ؟ فَقَالَ: أَتُرِيدُونَ أَنْ أَكُونَ مُعَرِّفًا كَمُعَرِّفِ الْوُلَاةِ ؟
                  I – or someone else – said to him: Why don’t you tell them? He said: Do you want me to be like a spy for the authorities?

                  وَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَوْمًا: لَوْ عَامَلْتَنَا بِذَلِكَ لَكَانَ أَدْعَى إِلَى الِاسْتِقَامَةِ وَالصَّلَاحِ
                  One day I said to him: If you told us about that, it would help us to adhere to the straight path and righteousness

                  فَقَالَ: لَا تَصْبِرُونَ مَعِي عَلَى ذَلِكَ جُمُعَةً أَوْ قَالَ: شَهْرًا
                  He said: You would not be able to put up with me for one week – or he said, one month

                  وَأَخْبَرَنِي غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ بِأُمُورٍ بَاطِنَةٍ تَخْتَصُّ بِي مِمَّا عَزَمْتُ عَلَيْهِ
                  On more than one occasion he told me about private, personal matters that I had decided to do

                  وَلَمْ يَنْطِقْ بِهِ لِسَانِي
                  but I had not spoken of them

                  وَأَخْبَرَنِي بِبَعْضِ حَوَادِثَ كِبَارٍ تَجْرِي فِي الْمُسْتَقْبَلِ
                  And he told me about some major events that would happen in the future

                  وَلَمْ يُعَيِّنْ أَوْقَاتَهَا ، وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ بَعْضَهَا وَأَنَا أَنْتَظِرُ بَقِيَّتَهَا
                  but he did not state a specific time; I have seen some of them and I am waiting for the rest

                  وَمَا شَاهَدَهُ كِبَارُ أَصْحَابِهِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَضْعَافُ أَضْعَافِ مَا شَاهَدَتْهُ
                  What his senior companions saw of that is many more times what I have seen

                    Virtues and Merits

                    وقوع الكرامات لبعض أهل الصلاح
                    miracles that happened to some righteous people

                    وقوع الكرامات لصلحاء هذه الأمة أمر ثابت لا شك فيه
                    The fact that karaamaat (miracles) happened to the righteous of this ummah is something that is proven and there is no doubt concerning it

                    وهو من تثبيت الله لعبده المؤمن ، ومن عاجل مثوبته له
                    This is one of the ways in which Allah makes His believing slave steadfast and is part of his reward in this world

                    قال الطحاوي رحمه الله في "عقيدته" (ص84) :
                    " ونؤمن بما جاء من كراماتهم ، وصح عن الثقات من رواياتهم " انتهى .
                    We believe in what is narrated about their karaamaat and what is mentioned in saheeh reports from trustworthy narrators. End quote

                    لاكن لا بد أن يُتناول هذا الأمر بحذر وفهم صحيح
                    But it is essential to approach this matter with caution and correct understanding

                    فإنه قد يقع لبعض أهل الضلال من خوارق العادات ما يظنه الجاهل أنه من الكرامات ، وإنما هو من تلبيس الشياطين .
                    , because extraordinary events may happen to some who promote misguidance, which may make the ignorant think that these are karaamaat when in fact it is the deceit of the devils


                    كرامات الأولياء حق باتفاق أئمة أهل الإسلام والسنة والجماعة
                    The karaamaat of the close friends of Allah (awliya’) are true according to the consensus of the imams of Islam and of Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa‘ah

                    وقد دل عليها القرآن في غير موضع
                    That is indicated by the Qur’aan in more than one place

                    وإنما أنكرها أهل البدع من المعتزلة والجهمية ومن تابعهم

                      وعلم الله ما رأيت أحدا أطيب عيشا منه قط
                      Allah knows, I have never seen anyone more happy and content than him

                      مع ما كان فيه من ضيق العيش وخلاف الرفاهية والنعيم بل ضدها
                      despite the hardship he was living through and the type of life that is the opposite of luxury and pleasure

                      ومع ما كان فيه من الحبس والتهديد والإرهاق
                      and despite what he went through of imprisonment, threats and exhaustion

                      وهو مع ذلك من أطيب الناس عيشا
                      Despite all that he was one of the most content and happiest of people

                      وأشرحهم صدرا ، وأقواهم قلبا ، وأسرهم نفسا
                      one of the strongest in spirit and most joyful

                      تلوح نضرة النعيم على وجهه
                      you could see in his face the glow of serenity

                      وكنا إذا اشتد بنا الخوف ، وساءت منا الظنون ، وضاقت بنا الأرض
                      I remember when we were very fearful and were feeling pessimistic and distressed

                      أتيناه ، فما هو إلا أن نراه ونسمع كلامه فيذهب ذلك كله
                      we would come to him and no sooner did we see him or hear his words but all of those negative feelings would disappear

                      وينقلب انشراحا وقوة ويقينا وطمأنينة
                      and turn into peace of mind, strength, certainty and reassurance

                      فسبحان من أشهد عباده جنته قبل لقائه
                      Glory be to the One Who caused His slaves to
                      experience the joy of His Paradise before meeting Him

                      وفتح لهم أبوابها في دار العمل
                      and opened its gates to them in the realm of striving

                      فآتاهم من روحها ونسيمها وطيبها ما استفرغ قواهم لطلبها والمسابقة إليها
                      and fragrance could reach them and motivate them to seek it and compete for it


                      أما حصول الكرامات لصلحاء هذه الأمة من علمائها وعبادتها وزهادها فشيء كثير جدا
                      With regard to karaamaat (miracles) of the righteous among this ummah, such as the scholars, devoted worshippers and ascetics, there are many such stories

                      ونحن نذكر طرفا يسيرا مما وقع من ذلك مما ذكره أهل العلم في كتبهم
                      We will quote a few examples of such incidents that were narrated by the scholars in their books

                      وننبه على أن كثيرا مما يحكى في هذا الباب لا يصح
                      However we should point out that many of the stories that have been narrated in this regard may not be sound

                      فينبغي التثبت مما يروى في هذا الباب قبل الاعتداد به ، والتعويل عليه
                      so it is essential to verify reports of this nature before taking them seriously or quoting them

                      شَهِدْتُ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِالْحِيرَةِ أُتِيَ بِسُمٍّ
                      I saw Khaalid ibn al-Waleed may Allah be pleased with him in Heerah. Some poison was brought to him

                      فَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا : سُمُّ سَاعَةٍ
                      and he said: What is this? They said: Poison that kills in a very short time

                      قَالَ : " بِسْمِ اللَّهِ " ثُمَّ ازْدَرَدَهُ – يعني ابتلعه ولم يصبه سوء
                      He said: Bismillah (in the name of Allah), then he swallowed it and nothing bad happened to him

                      كُنْتُ مَعَ أَنَسٍ فَجَاءَ قَهْرَمَانُهُ فَقَالَ
                      I was with Anas when his steward came to him and said

                      يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ قَدْ عَطِشَتْ أَرْضُنَا
                      O Abu Hamzah, our land is very dry

                      فَقَامَ أَنَسٌ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَخَرَجَ إِلَى الْبَرِيَّةِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ دَعَا
                      Anas got up and did wudoo’, then he went out to the desert and prayed two rak‘ahs
                      then he offered supplication


                      فَرَأَيْتُ السَّحَابَ يَلْتَئِمُ
                      And I saw the clouds gathering

                      ثُمَّ مَطَرَتْ حَتَّى مَلَأَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
                      then it rained until everything was full

                      فَلَمَّا سَكَنَ الْمَطَرُ بَعَثَ أَنَسٌ بَعْضَ أَهْلِهِ
                      When the rain stopped, Anas sent one of his family members to look and said

                      انْظُرْ أَيْنَ بَلَغَتِ السَّمَاءُ ؟
                      See how far the rain reached

                      نَظَرَ فَلَمْ تَعْدُ أَرْضُهُ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا
                      So he looked and it had not reached beyond his land except a short distance

                        خَرَجْنَا غُزَاةً إِلَى كَابُلَ وَفِي الْجَيْشِ صِلَةُ بْنُ أَشْيَمَ
                        We went out on campaign to Kabul and among the army was Silah ibn Ashyam

                        فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنْ أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ قَالَ الْأَمِيرُ
                        When we got close to the land of the enemy, the commander said

                        لَا يَشُذَّنَّ مِنَ الْعَسْكَرِ أَحَدٌ
                        No one among the troops should wander off away from the army

                        فَذَهَبَتْ بَغْلَةُ صِلَةَ بِثِقْلِهِا فَأَخَذَ يُصَلِّي فَقِيلَ
                        A mule of Silah’s strayed, carrying its load, and he started to pray. It was said

                        إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ ذَهَبُوا فَقَالَ
                        The people (i.e. the army) have started moving on. He said

                        إِنَّمَا هِيَ خَفِيفَتَانِ
                        It is only two brief rak‘ahs

                        قَالَ : فَدَعَا ثُمَّ قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُقْسِمُ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ تُرَدَّ عَلَيَّ بَغْلَتِي وَثِقلَهَا
                        Then he offered supplication (du‘aa’) and said: O Allah, I urge You to return my mule and its load to me

                        قَالَ : فَجَاءَتْ حَتَّى قَامَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ
                        Then it came and stood in front of him


                        لَمَّا غُسِّلَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْقَعْقَاعِ الْقَارِئُ بَعْدَ وَفَاتِهِ
                        When Abu Ja‘far Yazeed ibn al-Qa‘qaa‘ al-Qaari’ was washed (ghusl) after he died

                        نَظَرُوا مَا بَيْنَ نَحْرِهِ إِلَى فُؤَادِهِ مِثْلَ وَرَقَةِ الْمُصْحَفِ
                        they looked at the area between his throat and chest and saw that it looked like a page of the Mushaf

                        قَالَ : فَمَا شَكَّ مَنْ حَضَرَهُ أَنَّهُ نُورُ الْقُرْآنِ
                        He said: None of those who were present doubted that it was the light of the Qur’aan


                        وعَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْأَلْهَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ : " أَنَّ امْرَأَةً خَبَّبتْ عَلَيْهِ امْرَأَتَهُ فَدَعَا عَلَيْهَا فَذَهَبَ بَصَرُهَا
                        It was narrated from Muhammad ibn Ziyaad al-Alhaani, from Abu Muslim al-Khawlaani, so he prayed against her and she lost her sight

                        قَالَ : فَأَتَتْهُ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا أَبَا مُسْلِمٍ إِنِّي قَدْ كُنْتُ فَعَلْتُ ، وَفَعَلْتُ وَلَا أَعُودُ لِمِثْلِهَا
                        Then she came to him and said: O Abu Muslim, I did such and such, but I shall not do it again

                        فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَتْ صَادِقَةً فَارْدُدْ عَلَيْهَا بَصَرَهَا ، قَالَ: فَأَبْصَرَتْ
                        He said: O Allah, if she is telling the truth then restore her sight to her. And she regained her sight

                        وعَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْعَكِّيِّ قَالَ: " رُبَّمَا قَالَ الصِّبْيَانُ لِأَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ إِذَا مَرَّ الظَّبْيُ
                        It was narrated that Bilaal ibn Ka‘b al-‘Akki said: Some boys said to Abu Muslim al-Khawlaani when a gazelle passed by

                        ادْعُ اللَّهَ يَحْبِسُ عَلَيْنَا هَذَا الظَّبْيَ ، فَيَدْعُو اللَّهَ فَيَحْبِسُهُ حتّى يأخذُوه بأيدِيهم
                        Pray to Allah to detain this gazelle for us. He prayed to Allah (du‘aa’) and He detained it until they caught it with their hands

                        وعَنْ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ: " كُنْتُ فِي زَرْعٍ لِي إِذْ أَقْبَلَتْ سَحَابَةٌ تُزْهِي
                        It was narrated that Shaqeeq said: I was in some farmland of mine when a cloud came

                        قَالَ : فَسَمِعْتُ فِيهَا صَوْتًا أَمْطِرِي زَرْعَ فُلَانٍ
                        and I heard from it a voice saying: Rain on the land of So and so

                        قَالَ : فَأَتَيْتُ الرَّجُلَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ مَا تَصْنَعُ بِزَرْعِكَ ؟
                        So I went to the man and said: What do you do with your crops? 0

                        قالَ: أبَذْرُ ثُلُثَهُ ، وَآكُلُ ثُلُثَهُ ، وَأَتَصَدَّقُ بِثُلُثِهِ

                        He said: I plant one third , I eat one third and I give one third in charity

                        عَامِر بن عَبد قَيْس كَانَ يَأْخُذُ عَطَاءَهُ فَيَجْعَلُهُ فِي طَرَفِ رِدَائِهِ
                        ‘Aamir ibn ‘Abd Qays used to take his stipend and carry it in the hem of his rida’ (upper garment)1

                        فَلَا يَلْقَى أَحَدًا مِنَ الْمَسَاكِينِ يَسْأَلُهُ إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ
                        and he would not meet any of the poor who asked him for something but he would give him something

                        فَإِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ رَمَى بِهِ إِلَيْهِمْ فَيَعُدُّونَهَا فَيَجَدِوُنَهَا سَوَاءً كَمَا أُعْطِيَهَا
                        Then when he entered upon his family, he gave it to

                        them and they counted it, and it was the same as what

                        كَانَ مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ سَبَّحَتْ آنِيَةُ بَيْتِهِ
                        It was narrated that Yoonus said: When Mutarrif ibn ‘Abdillah entered his house, the vessels in his house would glorify Allah

                        كَانَ مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَصَاحِبٌ لَهُ سَرَيَا فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُظْلِمَةٍ
                        It was narrated that Qataadah said: Mutarrif ibn ‘Abdillah and a companion of his were walking on a dark night

                        فَإِذَا طَرَفُ سَوْطِ أَحَدِهِمَا عِنْدَهُ ضَوْءٌ
                        and at the end of the whip of one of them there was a light


                        فَقَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ : إِنَّا لَوْ حَدَّثَنَا النَّاسَ بِهَذَا كَذَّبُونَا
                        He said to his companion: If we tell people about this they will say that we are lying

                        فَقَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ : الْمُكَذِّبُ أَكْذَبُ
                        Mutarrif said: The one who says we are lying is more of a liar


                        كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَقِيقٍ مُجَابَ الدَّعْوَةِ
                        Abdullah ibn Shaqeeq was a man whose du‘aa’s were answered

                        فَكَانَتْ تَمُرُّ بِهِ السَّحَابَةُ فَيَقُولُ
                        Clouds would pass by him and he would say

                        اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجُوزُ كَذَا وَكَذَا حَتَّى تُمْطِرَ
                        O Allah, do not let them go beyond such and such a place before it rains

                        فَمَا تَجُوزُ ذَلِكَ الْمَوْضِعَ حَتَّى تُمْطِرَ
                        and they would not go beyond that place before it rained





                        كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَدْهَمَ يَجْتَنِي الرُّطَبَ مِنْ شَجَرِ الْبَلُّوطِ
                        Ibraaheem ibn Adham used to pick fresh dates from oak trees

                        اشترى كَهمس بن الحسن دقيقا بدرهم فأكل منه
                        Kahmas ibn al-Hasan bought some flour for one dirham and ate some of it

                        فلما طال عليه كَاله ، فإذا هو كما وضعه
                        then after a long time he weighed it and found that it was the same weight as when he bought it

                        وتجد كثيرا من ذلك في كتب أهل العلم التي عنيت بتراجم السلف وذكر أحوالهم
                        There are many such stories in the books of the scholars that deal with biographies and stories of the salaf (early generations)

                        إلا أن منها ما لا يصح
                        But some of these stories are not saheeh

                        وفي بعضها مغالاة وإسراف في الوصف
                        and some are exaggerated

                        وخاصة ما يذكره أهل التصوف في كتبهم عن أشياخهم
                        especially the stories told by the Sufis in their books about their shaykhs

                        ونؤمن بما جاء من كراماتهم ، وصح عن الثقات من رواياتهم
                        We believe in what is narrated of their karaamaat that is proven to be narrated from trustworthy narrators

                        لقد أحسن المؤلف صنعا بتقييد ذلك بما صح من الروايات
                        The author did well to limit it to the reports that are proven to be sound

                        ذلك لأن الناس وبخاصة المتأخرين منهم قد توسعوا في رواية الكرامات
                        because the people, especially among later generations of Muslims, narrated very many stories of karaamaat

                        إلى درجة أنهم رووا باسمها الأباطيل التي لا يشك في بطلانها من له أدنى ذرة من عقل
                        to such an extent that they narrated many false stories under that heading which no one who has the slightest reason or common sense would doubt are false

                        بل إن فيها أحيانا ما هو من الشرك الأكبر في الربوبية
                        In fact in some cases they contain major shirk, associating others with the Lordship of Allah

                        ونرجو أن تقرأ الكتاب النفيس في هذا الباب : "الفرقان بين أولياء الرحمن وأولياء الشيطان"
                        We hope that you will read a very important book on this topic which is entitled al-Furqaan bayna Awliya’ ar-Rahmaan wa Awliya’ ash-Shaytaan

                          في المسألة خلاف بين أهل العلم
                          There is a disagreement among the scholars concerning this issue

                          والأرجح أن المضاعفة للثواب تعم الحرم كله
                          However, the most preponderant opinion is that reward is multiplied anywhere in the Haram (the Sacred Sanctuary of Makkah) 0

                          لأنه كله يطلق عليه المسجد الحرام في القرآن والسنة
                          because it is all considered Al-Masjid Al-Haram according to the Qur’an and Sunnah

                          أما السيئات فلا تضاعف عددًا لا في الحرم ولا غيره
                          2- As to sins, they are not multiplied in terms of their number either in Makkah or anywhere else

                          وإنما تضاعف من جهة الكيفية وذلك باختلاف شدة الإثم
                          In fact, sins are multiplied in terms of their kind that varies in intensity

                          وعظم الجريمة بسبب الزمان والمكان في رمضان والحرم الشريف والمدينة المنورة وأشباه ذلك
                          and gravity depending on the time and place where the sins are committed, for example, if they are committed during Ramadan

                          لقول الله سبحانه: مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلا يُجْزَى إِلا مِثْلَهَا
                          Allah Glorified be He says: Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten times the like thereof to his credit, and whoever brings an evil deed shall have only the recompense of the like thereof There

                          وللأحاديث الصحيحة الواردة في ذلك
                          There are many Sahih (authentic) Hadiths to the same effect


                          متى فرض الحج؟
                          When Hajj was made obligatory



                          اختلف العلماء في السنة التي فرض فيها الحج
                          Scholars have differed concerning the year in which Hajj was made obligatory

                          فقيل في سنة خمس، وقيل في سنة ست، وقيل في سنة تسع،وقيل في سنة عشر
                          It was said that it was in the fifth year after Hijrah. Others said that it was in the sixth year after Hijrah. It was also said that it was in the ninth or tenth year after Hijrah

                          وأقربها إلى الصواب القولان الأخيران وهو أنه فرض في سنة تسع وسنة عشر
                          The last two opinions which cite that Hajj was made obligatory in the ninth or tenth year after Hijrah are the most likely to be correct

                          التي ينبغي لأهل العلم العناية بها وإيضاحها للناس،
                          It is the duty of scholars to do their best in stressing this necessity to people

                          لأن الله سبحانه خلق الثقلين لعبادته
                          In fact, Allah Glorified be He has created Jinn and mankind to worship Him Alone

                          ولا يمكن أن تعرف هذه العبادة إلا بمعرفة الفقه الإسلامي
                          and the full meaning of this worship cannot be understood without knowing more about Fiqh

                          وأدلته وأحكام الإسلام وأدلته
                          its evidence, the rulings of Islam, and its evidence

                          ولا يكون ذلك إلا بمعرفة العلماء الذين يعتمد عليهم في هذا الباب من أئمة الحديث والفقه الإسلامي.
                          This knowledge can easily be attained through knowing Muslim scholars who are the main reference regarding Hadith and Fiqh

                            Refuting the fabrication of the liars who say that the immortal youths (in Paradise) are created for homosexuals!1

                            لو سمحت ومن غير حساسية زائدة
                            If you will excuse me, and without undue sensitivity


                            ( لا حياء في الدين )
                            1(“there is no shyness in religion”)

                            أنا أريد أسأل عن " ولدان مخلدون "
                            , I would like to ask about the immortal youths

                            الذين يتكلم عنهم القرآن مع الحور العين
                            of whom the Qur’an speaks along with al-hoor al-‘iyn

                            هل يمكن أن يكون ربي قد خلقهم لإشباع الرغبة الجنسية عند المثليين
                            Is it possible that my Lord has created them to satisfy sexual desires in homosexuals

                            جزاءً لهم على صبرهم في الدنيا واجتناب المعاصي
                            as a reward to them for their patience in this world and avoidance of sin?1

                            أم إنه توجد فئة أخرى من الصبية الجميلين المخصصة للمثليين غير هؤلاء ؟
                            Or is there another group of beautiful boys especially for homosexuals other than these? 1

                            هذا السؤال ليس نكتة وإنما هو سؤال حقيقي
                            This question is not a joke; rather it is a genuine question

                            وأتوقع الإجابة باحترام ومهنية
                            and I expect an answer, with all due respect and professionalism

                            كان بإمكانك أن تسأل السؤال نفسه بطريقة لائقة
                            You could have asked this question in a more appropriate manner

                            وتذكر معلوماتك الحقيقية المتعلقة باسمك ولغتك ودينك
                            giving real information about your name, language and religion

                            ونحن لن نقصِّر – إن شاء الله – في إجابتك
                            and we would never fall short – if Allah wills – in answering you

                            فقد أجبنا أسئلةً ليهود ونصارى وبوذيين وملحدين
                            We have answered questions for Jews, Christians, Buddhists and atheists

                            ولم تمنعهم أسئلتهم من ذكر معلوماتهم الصحيحة
                            and their questions have not prevented them from giving their real information

                            فكانوا موضع احترامنا وتقديرنا
                            and we have shown them our respect and appreciation

                            وأما أنت فتذكر في معلوماتك أن دينك " البوذية "
                            But in your case, you say in your information that your religion is Buddhism

                            وأن عملك هو " تاجر مخدرات "
                            and that your job is drug dealer

                            وأن لغتك " لغة الشارع "
                            and that your language is the language of the street

                            ولا ندري كيف يلتقي هذا مع سؤالك
                            We do not know what this has to do with your question

                            وخاصة قولك " ربي " فهل تتكلم عن " بوذا " أم عن رب العالمين ؟!

                            especially your saying “my Lord”. Are you speaking of Buddha or of the Lord of the Worlds?1

                            إن ادعاء المسلم على نفسه أنه على غير دين الإسلام : ردة ، والعياذ بالله
                            If a Muslim claims that he does not follow the religion of Islam, that constitutes apostasy – Allah forbid

                            ولو كان مازحا ؛ فمثل هذا لا مزاح فيه
                            even if he is joking! Such a thing is not a joking matter

                            ولا سخرية ؛ فمن كان سائلا جادا ؛ فليسأل عما شاء
                            and is not to be mocked. But if a person is asking in earnest, then let him ask about whatever he wishes

                            مما يحتاجه من أمر دينه ودنياه
                            of things that he needs to know about his religious and worldly affairs

                            لكن ما علاقة ذلك بأن يكتب في بياناته ما كتب ؟!
                            But that has nothing to do with writing such things in one’s information

                            وعلى كل حال فإنه لن يمنعنا كل هذا من إجابتك
                            Whatever the case, none of that will prevent us from answering your question

                            لأننا نعلم أن هذه شبهة يرددها أعداء الإسلام.
                            because we know that this specious argument is being spread by the enemies of


                            قد قرأنا لبعض الملحدين أن الإسلام أغرى العرب و" المثليين " في الإسلام بأن لهم في الجنة غلماناً جميلين

                            We have read about some atheists saying that Islam attracted the Arabs and the homosexuals by telling them that in Paradise they would have beautiful boys with whom

                            لفعل الفاحشة بهم – عياذاً بالله
                            to commit indecent acts – Allah forbid –1

                            وقد أعمت شهوة الجنس وفساد الفطرة والحقد على الإسلام هؤلاء
                            and that sexual desire, corrupted human nature and resentment towards Islam made these people wander blindly in their transgression

                            فراحوا يأتون بآيات من القرآن الكريم ظنوا أنها أدلتهم على ما افتروه على دين الإسلام
                            so they began to quote verses of the Holy Qur’an which they thought supported what they had fabricated against the religion of Islam

                            ولا شك ولا ريب أنهم كاذبون مفترون
                            There can be no doubt whatsoever that they are liars and fabricators

                            وأن الإسلام لم يأتِ إلا بالطهارة والعفاف
                            and that Islam did not bring anything but purity and chastity

                            ولا يوجد مثل هذا الشذوذ إلا في المجتمعات فاسدة الفطرة
                            and these perversions only exist in societies that have been corrupted

                            وقد عاقب الله تعالى سلفهم – وهم قوم لوط – بما لم يعاقب به أحداً من الأمم
                            Allah, may He be exalted, punished their predecessors – namely the people of Loot – in a manner in which He did not punish any other nation


                            وقد عدَّ الإسلام الشذوذ الجنسي – اللواط - جريمة كبرى
                            Islam regards sexual perversion – homosexuality – as a major sin

                            وقد وُصف قوم لوط عليه السلام الذين جاءوا بهذا الذنب القبيح بالعدوان
                            The people of Loot (peace be upon him) who committed this abhorrent sin were described as transgressors

                            والجهالة والإسراف والإجرام
                            and ignorant people who transgressed beyond all bounds in their crimes

                            لفعلهم المنافي للفطرة هذا
                            because they did that which is contrary to sound human nature

                            واقرأ ما ذكره الله تعالى عن لوط عليه السلام في خطابه لقومه
                            Read what Allah, may He be exalted, says about Loot when he addressed his people

                            أَتَأْتُونَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ . وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
                            Go you in unto the males of the mankind
                            And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!’”1


                            أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاء بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ
                            Do you approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, but you are a people who behave senselessly

                            أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ
                            Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the mankind and jinns?1

                            وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلا أَنْ قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
                            And the answer of his people was only that they said: ‘Drive them out of your town, these are indeed men who want to be pure (from sins)!’1


                            فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
                            Then We saved him and his family, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind in the torment

                            وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَطَرًا فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
                            And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). Then see what was the end of the Mujrimoon (criminals, polytheists, sinners)1



                            وقد بينَّا قبح هذه المعصية وحرمتها

                            We have highlighted the abhorrent nature of this sin and the prohibition on it

                            وأنه يُقتل الفاعل والمفعول به
                            and mentioned the ruling that the one who does it and the one to whom it is done are to be executed


                            فهل من جاء بذنب عظيم كهذا
                            Can it be the case that for one who has committed a grave sin such as this

                            يعِدُه الله تعالى في الجنة بغلمان يقضي شهوته الشاذة معهم ؟!
                            Allah, may He be exalted, will prepare for him boys with whom he can satisfy his perverted desires?!1


                            وهل يُقال للمسلمين اصبروا على الشذوذ لتحصلوه في الجنة ؟
                            Can it be said to the Muslims: Be patient in resisting perverse desires so that you can fulfil them in Paradise?!1

                            إن هؤلاء الملاحدة يعلمون أن الإسلام دين العفاف والطهارة
                            These atheists know that Islam is a religion of chastity and purity

                            ويعلمون أن الإسلام ليس فيه هذا الشذوذ
                            and they know that Islam does not approve of these perversions

                            لا في الدنيا ولا في الجنة
                            either in this world or in Paradise

                            ولكنهم قوم بهت ملاحدة ليس همهم إلا الطعن في الإسلام
                            but they are people of evil and atheism, so they do not care about anything but slandering Islam

                            لما احترقت قلوبهم من دخول الناس في دين الله أفواجاً
                            because they are infuriated by the fact that people are entering the religion of Allah in crowds


                            فغاظهم هذا الأمر فراحوا ينشرون الكذب والافتراء على هذا الدين
                            This enrages them, so they spread lies and fabrications against this religion

                            لكن كلما تبين للناس كذبهم وافتراؤهم ، ازدادوا تمسكاً بالإسلام
                            But the more their lies and fabrications become clear to people, the more they adhere to Islam

                            وعلموا خواء جعبة الملاحدة وأعداء الدين المطهَّر
                            and know that the atheists and the enemies of this pure religion are devoid of any good


                            وقد نزَّه الله جنته أن يكون فيها لغو وإثم مما يُسمع فكيف أن يُفعل ؟!
                            Allah has declared that in His Paradise no vain or sinful talk will be heard, so how about sinful actions?!1

                            قال تعالى ( لاَ يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْواً وَلاَ تَأْثِيماً إِلاَّ قِيلاً سَلاَماً سَلاَماَ )
                            He, may He be exalted, says
                            “No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.)1
                            But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)”

                            وميل الرجل لبني جنسه ليس ميلاً طبيعيّاً ولا فطريّاً
                            Homosexual inclinations are not natural or inherent

                            بل هو مرض يصيب منتكس الفطرة البعيد عن الطهارة في خلقه وأفعاله
                            rather it is a disease that affects the one who goes against sound human nature and is far removed from purity in his attitude and deeds

                            وهذا بخلاف ميل الرجل للأنثى
                            This is contrary to the male inclination towards females

                            فهو الميل الطبيعي
                            which is the natural inclination

                            لذا شرع الله تعالى الزواج في الدنيا ووعد المسلمين بالحور العين من النساء في الآخرة
                            Hence Allah, may He be exalted, has prescribed marriage in this world, and He has promised to the Muslims the hoor al-‘iyn in the Hereafter

                            هذا هو ما جاء به الإسلام لا غير
                            This is what Islam teaches, nothing else





                            أما الآيات التي استدل بها أولئك الملاحدة وأعداء الإسلام فهي تلك التي تذكر الغلمان المخلدين
                            With regard to the verses which those atheists and enemies of Islam quoted as evidence, in which mention is made of those immortal boys or boys of everlasting youth, those verses


                            ( وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ )
                            “And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls”1

                            ( وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا )
                            “And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls”1


                            ( يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ . بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ . لَا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ . وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ . وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ )
                            “They will be served by immortal boys,

                            With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine,1

                            Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication.1

                            And fruit; that they may choose,1

                            And the flesh of fowls that they desire”1

                            وفي هذه الآيات بيان لحال خدم أهل الجنة
                            These verses describe the servants of the people of Paradise

                            فقد خلقهم الله تعالى لذلك الأمر على أكمل صورة وأبهاها
                            Allah, may He be exalted, has created them for that purpose in the most beautiful form

                            وليس من مهمتهم ما افتراه أولئك الأفاكون
                            but it is not part of their role to do that which those liars have fabricated

                            بل نصَّ الله تعالى على عملهم في الجنة في القرآن
                            rather, Allah, may He be exalted, has told us of their deeds in the Qur’an

                            وبين أنهم خدم لأصحاب الجنة ، يطوفون عليهم بالطعام والشراب لا غير
                            where He says that they will serve the inhabitants of Paradise, and will go around taking food and drink to them, and no more than that


                            ( يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ ) يعني يطوف على هؤلاء السابقين الذين قرّبهم الله في جنات النعيم ولدان على سنّ واحدة لا يتغيرون ولا يموتون .
                            The words “They will be served by immortal boys mean: There will go around to those who were foremost in faith, whom Allah will bring close (to Him) in Gardens of bliss, boys who are all of the same age and will never change or die


                            ( بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ ) والأكواب : جمع كوب ، وهو من الأباريق ما اتسع رأسه ، ولم يكن له خرطوم .
                            “With cups, and jugs” – the word translated here as cups refers to vessels with wide necks and no spout

                            ( وَكَأْسٍ مِنْ مَعِينٍ ) وكأس خمر من شراب معين ، ظاهر العيون ، جار .
                            “and a glass from the flowing wine” – this refers to a cup of wine from a flowing spring

                            وقوله ( لا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا ) يقول : لا تُصدع رءوسُهم عن شربها فتسكر
                            “Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head” that is, they will not get headaches as a result of drinking and becoming intoxicated


                            وقوله ( وَلا يُنزفُونَ ) لا تنزف عقولهم
                            “nor any intoxication” that is, they will not lose their minds


                            ( وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ ) ويطوف هؤلاء الولدان المخلدون على هؤلاء السابقين بفاكهة من الفواكه التي يتخيرونها من الجنة لأنفسهم وتشتهيها نفوسهم
                            “And fruit; that they may choose” that is, those immortal boys will go around among those who were foremost in faith, with fruits from which they may choose for themselves whatever of the fruits of Paradise they like

                            ( وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ) يقول : ويطوفون أيضا عليهم بلحم طير مما يشتهون من الطير الذي تشتهيه نفوسهم "
                            “And the flesh of fowls that they desire” that is, they will also go around with meat from whatever fowl (birds) they like


                            ( مُخَلَّدُونَ ) أي : على حالة واحدة مخلَّدون عليها ، لا يتغيرون عنها
                            “of everlasting youth” that is, all looking the same, in a way that will last for ever, and never change

                            لا تزيد أعمارهم عن تلك السن
                            for they will never grow any older

                            ومن فسرهم بأنهم مُخَرّصُونَ في آذانهم الأقرطة
                            As for those who interpreted it as meaning that they will wear earrings in their ears

                            فإنما عبر عن المعنى بذلك لأن الصغير هو الذي يليق له ذلك دون الكبير
                            they only did so because this is something that is only appropriate for young boys, not for adults


                            وقوله ( إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَنْثُورًا )
                            “If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls1

                            أي : إذا رأيتَهم في انتشارهم في قضاء حوائج السادة وكثرتهم وصباحة وجوههم وحسن ألوانهم وثيابهم وحليهم
                            ” that is, if you saw them going about attending to the needs of their masters, with their large numbers, bright faces, and beautiful colours, garments and adornment


                            حسبتهم لؤلؤاً منثوراً
                            you would think that they were scattered pearls

                            ولا يكون في التشبيه أحسن من هذا
                            There is no likeness more beautiful than that


                            ولا في المنظر أحسن من اللؤلؤ المنثور على المكان الحسن
                            and nothing more delightful to the eye than pearls that are scattered in a beautiful place.

                            وقد ذهب بعض أهل العلم إلى أن الولدان المخلدون أولئك هم الذين يموتون صغاراً من أبناء المؤمنين أو المشركين
                            Some of the scholars are of the view that the boys of everlasting youth are those who die in infancy among the sons of both the believers and the mushrikeen

                            وهذا القول غير صحيح
                            but this view is not correct

                            بل الصحيح ما قدمناه من أنهم خلق خاص لخدمة أهل الجنة
                            Rather the correct view is that which we have mentioned above that they are created specially to serve the people of Paradise

                            As for what we have quoted from the commentators, no other view is known from the scholars of Islam

                            وننبه – أخيراً - إلى أن جملة " لا حياء في الدِّين " خطأ

                              We have read about some atheists saying that Islam attracted the Arabs and the homosexuals by telling them that in Paradise they would have beautiful boys with whom

                              لفعل الفاحشة بهم – عياذاً بالله
                              to commit indecent acts – Allah forbid –1

                              وقد أعمت شهوة الجنس وفساد الفطرة والحقد على الإسلام هؤلاء
                              and that sexual desire, corrupted human nature and resentment towards Islam made these people wander blindly in their transgression

                              فراحوا يأتون بآيات من القرآن الكريم ظنوا أنها أدلتهم على ما افتروه على دين الإسلام
                              so they began to quote verses of the Holy Qur’an which they thought supported what they had fabricated against the religion of Islam

                              ولا شك ولا ريب أنهم كاذبون مفترون
                              There can be no doubt whatsoever that they are liars and fabricators

                              وأن الإسلام لم يأتِ إلا بالطهارة والعفاف
                              and that Islam did not bring anything but purity and chastity

                              ولا يوجد مثل هذا الشذوذ إلا في المجتمعات فاسدة الفطرة
                              and these perversions only exist in societies that have been corrupted

                              وقد عاقب الله تعالى سلفهم – وهم قوم لوط – بما لم يعاقب به أحداً من الأمم
                              Allah, may He be exalted, punished their predecessors – namely the people of Loot – in a manner in which He did not punish any other nation


                              وقد عدَّ الإسلام الشذوذ الجنسي – اللواط - جريمة كبرى
                              Islam regards sexual perversion – homosexuality – as a major sin

                              وقد وُصف قوم لوط عليه السلام الذين جاءوا بهذا الذنب القبيح بالعدوان
                              The people of Loot (peace be upon him) who committed this abhorrent sin were described as transgressors

                              والجهالة والإسراف والإجرام
                              and ignorant people who transgressed beyond all bounds in their crimes

                              لفعلهم المنافي للفطرة هذا
                              because they did that which is contrary to sound human nature

                              واقرأ ما ذكره الله تعالى عن لوط عليه السلام في خطابه لقومه
                              Read what Allah, may He be exalted, says about Loot when he addressed his people

                              أَتَأْتُونَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ . وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
                              Go you in unto the males of the mankind
                              And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!’”1


                              أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاء بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ

                              ( يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ . بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ . لَا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ . وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ . وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ )
                              “They will be served by immortal boys,

                              With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine,1

                              Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication.1

                              And fruit; that they may choose,1

                              And the flesh of fowls that they desire”1

                              وفي هذه الآيات بيان لحال خدم أهل الجنة
                              These verses describe the servants of the people of Paradise

                              فقد خلقهم الله تعالى لذلك الأمر على أكمل صورة وأبهاها
                              Allah, may He be exalted, has created them for that purpose in the most beautiful form

                              وليس من مهمتهم ما افتراه أولئك الأفاكون
                              but it is not part of their role to do that which those liars have fabricated

                              بل نصَّ الله تعالى على عملهم في الجنة في القرآن
                              rather, Allah, may He be exalted, has told us of their deeds in the Qur’an

                              وبين أنهم خدم لأصحاب الجنة ، يطوفون عليهم بالطعام والشراب لا غير
                              where He says that they will serve the inhabitants of Paradise, and will go around taking food and drink to them, and no more than that


                              ( يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ ) يعني يطوف على هؤلاء السابقين الذين قرّبهم الله في جنات النعيم ولدان على سنّ واحدة لا يتغيرون ولا يموتون .
                              The words “They will be served by immortal boys mean: There will go around to those who were foremost in faith, whom Allah will bring close (to Him) in Gardens of bliss, boys who are all of the same age and will never change or die


                              ( بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ ) والأكواب : جمع كوب ، وهو من الأباريق ما اتسع رأسه ، ولم يكن له خرطوم .
                              “With cups, and jugs” – the word translated here as cups refers to vessels with wide necks and no spout

                              ( وَكَأْسٍ مِنْ مَعِينٍ ) وكأس خمر من شراب معين ، ظاهر العيون ، جار .
                              “and a glass from the flowing wine” – this refers to a cup of wine from a flowing spring

                              وقوله ( لا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا ) يقول : لا تُصدع رءوسُهم عن شربها فتسكر
                              “Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head” that is, they will not get headaches as a result of drinking and becoming intoxicated


                              وقوله ( وَلا يُنزفُونَ ) لا تنزف عقولهم
                              “nor any intoxication” that is, they will not lose their minds


                              ( وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ ) ويطوف هؤلاء الولدان المخلدون على هؤلاء السابقين بفاكهة من الفواكه التي يتخيرونها من الجنة لأنفسهم وتشتهيها نفوسهم
                              “And fruit; that they may choose” that is, those immortal boys will go around among those who were foremost in faith, with fruits from which they may choose for themselves whatever of the fruits of Paradise they like

                              ( وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ) يقول : ويطوفون أيضا عليهم بلحم طير مما يشتهون من الطير الذي تشتهيه نفوسهم "
                              “And the flesh of fowls that they desire” that is, they will also go around with meat from whatever fowl (birds) they like


                              ( مُخَلَّدُونَ ) أي : على حالة واحدة مخلَّدون عليها ، لا يتغيرون عنها
                              “of everlasting youth” that is, all looking the same, in a way that will last for ever, and never change

                              لا تزيد أعمارهم عن تلك السن
                              for they will never grow any older

                              ومن فسرهم بأنهم مُخَرّصُونَ في آذانهم الأقرطة
                              As for those who interpreted it as meaning that they will wear earrings in their ears

                              فإنما عبر عن المعنى بذلك لأن الصغير هو الذي يليق له ذلك دون الكبير
                              they only did so because this is something that is only appropriate for young boys, not for adults


                              وقوله ( إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَنْثُورًا )
                              “If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls1

                              أي : إذا رأيتَهم في انتشارهم في قضاء حوائج السادة وكثرتهم وصباحة وجوههم وحسن ألوانهم وثيابهم وحليهم
                              ” that is, if you saw them going about attending to the needs of their masters, with their large numbers, bright faces, and beautiful colours, garments and adornment


                              حسبتهم لؤلؤاً منثوراً
                              you would think that they were scattered pearls

                              ولا يكون في التشبيه أحسن من هذا
                              There is no likeness more beautiful than that


                              ولا في المنظر أحسن من اللؤلؤ المنثور على المكان الحسن
                              and nothing more delightful to the eye than pearls that are scattered in a beautiful place.

                              وقد ذهب بعض أهل العلم إلى أن الولدان المخلدون أولئك هم الذين يموتون صغاراً من أبناء المؤمنين أو المشركين
                              Some of the scholars are of the view that the boys of everlasting youth are those who die in infancy among the sons of both the believers and the mushrikeen

                              وهذا القول غير صحيح
                              but this view is not correct

                              بل الصحيح ما قدمناه من أنهم خلق خاص لخدمة أهل الجنة
                              Rather the correct view is that which we have mentioned above that they are created specially to serve the people of Paradise

                              This is our response to what you have asked about, and we hope that you will benefit thereby

                              وأن يشرح الله صدرك للإسلام
                              and that Allah will open your heart to Islam,

                              فتكون من أهله ومن الذابين عنه كيد المبطلين وافتراء الكاذبين
                              so that you will become one of its followers and one of those who ward off from it the schemes and fabrications of the followers of falsehood and liars


                              وإذا لم تنتفع بجوابنا هذا فلعلَّ غيرك أن ينتفع به
                              If you do not benefit from this answer of ours, then perhaps others will benefit from it

                              ويعلم به أن الإسلام دين العفاف والطهارة
                              and will learn from it that Islam is the religion of chastity and purity

                              وأنه لا يمكن أن يأتي بما افتراه أولئك المبطلون عن الغاية من خلق خدم أهل الجنة
                              and it is not possible for it to have brought what those followers of falsehood have fabricated about the purpose behind the creation of the servants of the people of Paradise

                              وما ذكرناه عن المفسرين لا يُعرف غيره عن أهل الإسلام.
                              As for what we have quoted from the commentators, no other view is known from the scholars of Islam

                              وننبه – أخيراً - إلى أن جملة " لا حياء في الدِّين " خطأ
                              Finally, we should point out that the phrase “there is no shyness in religion” is incorrect
